What to Expect When Youre Expecting 4th Edition

Announcing a brand new, cover-to-cover revision of America’s pregnancy bible. What to Expect When You’re Expecting is a perennial New York Times bestseller and one of USA Today’s 25 most influential books of the past 25 years. It’s read by more than 90% of pregnant women who read a pregnancy book–the most iconic, must-have book for parents-to-be, with over 14.5 million copies in print.
Now comes the Fourth Edition, a new book for a new generation of expectant moms–featuring a new look, a fresh perspective, and a friendlier-than-ever voice. It’s filled with the most up-to-date information reflecting not only what’s new in pregnancy, but what’s relevant to pregnant women. Heidi Murkoff has rewritten every section of the book, answering dozens of new questions and including loads of new asked-for material, such as a detailed week-by-week fetal development section in each of the monthly chapters, an expanded chapter on pre-conception, and a brand new one on carrying multiples. More comprehensive, reassuring, and empathetic than ever, the Fourth Edition incorporates the most recent developments in obstetrics and addresses the most current lifestyle trends (from tattooing and belly piercing to Botox and aromatherapy). There’s more than ever on pregnancy matters practical (including an expanded section on workplace concerns), physical (with more symptoms, more solutions), emotional (more advice on riding the mood roller coaster), nutritional (from low-carb to vegan, from junk food
The Secret

Supporters will hail this New Age self-help book on the law of attraction as a groundbreaking and life-changing work, finding validation in its thesis that one’s positive thoughts are powerful magnets that attract wealth, health, happiness… and did we mention wealth? Detractors will be appalled by this as well as when the book argues that fleeting negative thoughts are powerful enough to create terminal illness, poverty and even widespread disasters. The audio version of this controversial book, read by Byrne and contributing authors such as John Gray and Neale Donald Walsch, is uneven at best. The cheesy, obvious sound effects will not do much to add intellectual respectability to a work that has been widely denounced as pseudoscience. Mostly, this audio is hampered by its confusing and disjointed organization—techniques that worked reasonably well in the print version and the movie, such as cutting every few seconds from one enthusiastic expert to another, make for a choppy and somewhat bewildering listening experience. The gentle cadences of Rhonda Byrne’s breathy, Aussie-infused voice are certainly the best part of the audio, but her material is scarce and provides mostly connective tissue between the testimonials.

2 Stars Im still not sure..!
I read this book, and as I was reading it, I couldn’t help it wonder if it was a joke to make people have a good laugh, a conspiracy to fool people, or just something so deep that is beyond my perception. In fact I’m still not sure!
First of all, let me tell you, the book is about 200 pages, when everything it has so say can be well explained in only 20 pages. Most of this book is just repetitive. Most sentences are repeated or rephrased over and over again. Almost 90% of is just redundant.
And as far as the message it has to deliver, I just don’t think it that literal. I can see how positive affirmations can help you have a better attitude, but I don’t believe it can “create things” or “cure diseases”.
Funny thing is that the author tries to back up her “secret” with science (quantum physics) without establishing any real relationship between the two, which can be proven.
All in all, if you are curious and just wanna read the book that’s been a bestseller for over 100 weeks and you have some spare time with nothing better to do, read it. But I do not recommend buying it! Just get it from a public library and return it as soon as you get bored with it! Or just contact me and I’ll send you my copy, since I’m already stuck with one.
5 Stars A powerful help
Since being loaned a copy of this book, I’ve bought dozens for friends who were down and out, had lost their jobs, suffered sickness, financial troubles and all other sorts of problems life can throw. This is about positive thinking, but it carries it further with more detail and how-to than any book I’d ever seen. It is not your regular book in that many authors write all throughout, and their message, help and advice is powerful indeed.
If you will read this and apply its principles in belief, the chances of your living a happier, more productive, fun, and fruitful life are increased many times. It makes you feel good about everything, and it puts you back in control.
I can not place any book above this one. It goes right along with the Bible, and what many very smart men have to say on the subject of how we should think. It is so important to think correctly, and this book is a great help in that.
1 Star Inspirational - But don’t waste your time and money
Too much hype… The book tells you do this do that you will be rich, happy go lucky. If you think positive, you attract positive things… It’s all good but it fails drastically to explain why bad things happen to good people…
It is a waste of time and money. Just like many other books, it is a bad attempt to copy the true master’s book, the original; Florance Schovel Shinn’s writings… Now, that is the book to buy…
1 Star Oh, So Naive…
If anyone–and I do mean ANYONE–over the age of 12 and not under the influence of drugs finds this book even the least bit enlightening or entertaining…than you have a serious problem on your hands.
And seeing as how the majority of ratings for this book are 5-star, and it’s sales were anything but lackluster here in America, than I’d say that’s a shining example of why the rest of the world deems us idiots.
There is some common sense in this book, that if you didn’t already know, proves you simply lack common sense. And then there are absurdities in this book that prove people will believe any rediculous web that’s spun for them.
What it comes down to is this: self-help books don’t exist! How can someone else write a book to help you, and then call it self-help? That’s bsurd. It’s an author serving as a misinformed psychologist to the masses–nothing more.
5 Stars The Secret Shared
This is a book that should be shared with everyone you know. The web site, thesecret.tv, is a great place to preview information regarding the substance of the book. If you are considering the book but unsure DO IT! You won’t regret it.

4 Stars Good Book
No complaints here! Every recipe I’ve tried so far has been a hit with my family.
2 Stars Not really recipes
I was very disappointed as this “Cookbook” is not really recipes, slicing a banana and pouring caramel over it is not really considered a recipe!I wish I would have not invested in this one!
4 Stars Biggest Loser Family Cookbook
This book is great and has some great meal ideas. Also it does allow you to cook on budget.
5 Stars Practical Cookbook!
This is a great and very practical cookbook (Over 125 recipes according to the book). I really enjoyed Chef Devin’s informative pages at the beginning and with each category of the cookbook. Her philosophy is easy to understand and follow. Since she was an overweight teenager, Chef Devin understands the struggle. She works to create tasty and healthy recipes. It shows in this cookbook!
I would choose this one over the first BL Cookbook, although I like both of them. The first cookbook had many turkey recipes and this one is loaded with chicken recipes. Much better for me! There are many salad recipes in the older one that are great. Get both if you can.
4 Stars Great for Families
This is a very easy cookbook to use with ingredients that you don’t have to spend a ton of money on. I love to get my children involved and they have fun cooking with Mom. The recipes we’ve tried so far are great in taste and what’s even better is they’re HEALTHY!
